On the solemn occasion of Hul Diwas, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today paid heartfelt tribute to the indomitable courage and extraordinary valor of India’s tribal communities.
Commemorating the historic Santhal uprising, the Prime Minister honored the enduring legacy of revered freedom fighters—Sido-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and Phulo-Jhano—along with countless other brave tribal martyrs who laid down their lives in defiance of colonial oppression.
In a post on X, he wrote:
“हूल दिवस हमें अपने आदिवासी समाज के अदम्य साहस और अद्भुत पराक्रम की याद दिलाता है। ऐतिहासिक संथाल क्रांति से जुड़े इस विशेष अवसर पर सिदो-कान्हू, चांद-भैरव और फूलो-झानो के साथ ही उन सभी वीर-वीरांगनाओं का हृदय से नमन और वंदन, जिन्होंने विदेशी हुकूमत के अत्याचार के खिलाफ लड़ते हुए अपने जीवन का बलिदान कर दिया। उनकी शौर्यगाथा देश की हर पीढ़ी को मातृभूमि के स्वाभिमान की रक्षा के लिए प्रेरित करती रहेगी।”
