Last Word - If you are up for a no-brainer entertainer, this film is just for you!
Housefull is one franchise that has delivered film after film. Housefull 5 too delivers and fans of the franchise will be up for a joyride. Though, the second half of this joyride has a few hiccups in terms of the Baba and Bhhiddu track as Jackie and Sanjay are both, overtly over-the-top - yes, the film is supposed to be over the top - yet they are overtly over that!
The plot is wafer-thin - a tycoon dies leaving a 69 Billion pound fortune - three imposters turn-up posing as the tycoon's long lost son. A murder to conceal the identity of the son and too many goof-ups after a drunken revelry. Thus, you have a bit of 'The Hangover' in this whodunit!
So instead of a coherent narrative, you have a gag-plot that is perfectly placed in the first half, but becomes a bit of a drag in the second half.
Akshay Kumar is first rate and once again proves that there is no match to his agility in his age-group. Rest of the cast too, packs in a solid-punch - barring - Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt.
While the camera-work is perfect; screenplay could have been better particularly in the second half.
Lal Pari track is the pick of the music lot; there is no doubt music could have been loads better!
All in all, a perfect masala fare that should keep the investors and the audiences happy.
