Tourism, Travel & Food Series l Bar Tiffany l Martina Laudisio

By - Amit kumaR Agarwal

In my journey across Italy - for 10 weeks now - I have visited several cafes, bars and hotels - but very few of the owners are as enterprising as Martina Laudisio, owner, Bar Tiffany. Unlike Indian youths her age, that are mostly either partying or studying, Martina, has already created a legacy to cherish.

To applaud her achievement - I invited her to tell her journey to the wonderful one million readers of Bhaarat Bol News, spread across countries and continents!

  • Martina Laudisia, founder & owner, Bar Tiffany, the must go bar for coffee, snacks and drinks in Stigliano, Basilicata, Italy.

My Journey at Bar Tiffany: Staying and Building

Hello everyone, I'm Martina Laudisio.

I'm almost 21 years old and my life – or at least a big part of it – revolves around Bar Tiffany, right here in Stigliano.

My adventure in this world started at 19.

I was very young, practically just a girl, but I immediately understood that this was my path and that I wanted to get serious about it.

We all know how things work in our towns: Stigliano is wonderful, but doing business here today is a continuous challenge.

We live in an area that fights every day against depopulation, a place where opportunities for us young people are scarce and there always seem to be too many closed doors.

Often, you get the impression that the only real way to fulfill yourself is to pack your bags and go far away.
I, however, made a different choice.

I chose to stay.

I decided that I would create my own opportunity, in my own home, investing my energy in the town where I grew up.

And I assure you it hasn't been, and isn't, easy at all.
Working in this sector doesn't just mean standing behind a counter serving coffee.

It means making many sacrifices, giving up weekends and free evenings when your peers might be out having fun. But above all, it means studying and constantly updating your skills.

I wanted to put in all the possible effort to get the right qualifications, because passion alone is not enough!

In July 2023, I officially obtained the regional qualification for the Trade and administration of food and beverages.

I have always tried to look to the future and to innovation, for example by participating in the BAR LAB in Atena Lucana in November 2025, to understand how to concretely build the 'bar of tomorrow'.

And then there are those small but great satisfactions that make up for the hard work, like the Nutella Academy recognition I received this February, in 2026, as a Creator of taste and happiness.

Behind every single one of these paper certificates there is a lot of exhaustion, there are miles traveled for training, there are doubts, but above all, there is an enormous stubbornness.

I want to continue running my business with the exact same determination as the first day. Because I want to prove that even here, where everything seems more difficult, with hard work and willpower, we young people can build our future without necessarily having to run away.
