Amit R Agrwal's 50 Red Carpets At Cannes Film Festival, Now A Book

The cult film-maker from India, Amit R Agrwal's 50 Red-Carpets at Cannes Film Festival are soon turning into a book. 'My 6th book to be precise," gushes Amit.

The idea came at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, where he met more than 10 Indian actors and models, "each trying to get a ticket to walk the Red Carpet at the Grand Lumiere".

A thought crossed my mind, why does the Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet draw such crazy response, while the red-carpets of the other top-10 film festivals are not even talked about! "I know for sure, not many of them would know, even, the names of the other top-10 film festivals".

The book is mostly a memoir, "right from the 1st Red Carpet I did in 2010 to the 50th in 2025," Amit has a slight gleam of pride in his eyes, as he says!

To give the book a global perspective, Amit has drawn actors, producers, models that have been thronging the Red Carpet over a decade for now - "the reason I got at least one of the Red Carpet regulars from each of the continents is that everyone has a story to tell, about the way they got their first red-carpet ticket; each story is very unique - it adds to the fun element of the book"

Amit plans to release the book either during Cannes 2027 or Cannes 2028, "preferably on the Red Carpet, if I can manage it," Amit says with a naughty grin.
