Directorial debut at 73!

Madhura Pandit Jasraj, wife of eminent Indian classical singer, Pandit Jasraj and daughter of revered film-maker V. Shantaram might well go down in the history of cinema as the oldest director to make a debut. Recently she realized her dream of directing a film at the ripe age of 73!

The film titled Aai Tujha Aashirwad will not only see her donning director’s hat, but also, taking credits for story, screenplay and dialogues. Speaking on the occasion, she told, age is considered a barrier to achieving one's dreams, but by making this film I have proved that anything is possible at any age.

On her way to enter record books, the fact that the film will be shot on multi-location in multiple schedules with a diverse cast only adds to her achievement.
