Fresh from the accolades he drew for his portrayal as Clark Kent's earthly father in "Man of Steel", Kevin Costner has been signed to play a high school track coach in Disney's "McFarland."
According to reports the film revolves around a real-life track coach who created a
championship team in a predominantly Hispanic town in California after
the young athletes defeat. Disney is yet to announce a release date for "McFarland".
Costner,
already on a high, after his recent wins; an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for his
portrayal of 'Devil' Anse Hatfield in The History Channel mini-series
"Hatfield & McCoys", will next be seen with Chris Pine and Keira Knightley in Paramount's "Jack Ryan," scheduled to open on Christmas 2013.
