Russia's love for Bollywood's biggest showman, Raj Kapoor, is now legendary. There have been widely reported stories of kids humming and dancing to the tune of Awaara hoon.. in the streets of Moscow!
Literally following his late grandfather; it seems Ranbir Kapoor is all set to make a firm fan-base in Russia. It may be recalled that he recently promoted his latest blockbuster, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (YJHD) in Russia, to an overwhelming response.
If the reports are to be believed, Ranbir will do the same for his upcoming film, Besharam, as well. Besharam is directed by Abhinav Kashyap who gave Salman his biggest hit till then, Dabangg, in 2010.
Let's see if Ranbir can re-create the iconic charm his grandfather wielded on the Russians! It may be recalled that films starring the late Raj Kapoor are still very popular in Russia.
Raj Kapoor shot to fame and developed a fan-following after superhit films like Awara (1951), Shree 420 (1955) and Mera Naam Joker (1970) released there. Raj Kapoor is revered as an icon even today in Russia.
