Marateale 2022
was held in the Santavenere hotel in Maratea the beautiful town in Basilicata in Italy from 27-31 July 2022. Indian actress Richa Chadha
won big as she was awarded
alongside the legend Toni Servillo (The Hand of God, Gomorrah, Il Divo) following
such luminaries as Sophia Loren, Richard Gere, John Landis and Matt Dillon earlier.
Even Italy’s much loved Sandokan – Indian actor, Kabir Bedi was awarded here in 2019. At this edition
in 2022, Ali Fazal was also awarded from Bollywood.
Basilicata has
already been the
preferred location of such popular films as Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ and Bollywood superstar, Hrithik Roshan's War.
Marateale witnessed the presentation of the Stardust Kecaps outstanding
talent (Bollywood) Award to Indian actress Richa Chadha who has done many films and webseries. The Stardust Kecaps outstanding talent (international)
award was presented to bollywood actor, Ali Fazal. The two Indian
actors also mentored a group of especially selected young Italian actors and
actresses.
This edition
also saw three competitive sections of films – green, short and school. In
strengthening its relationship
with Bollywood, Indian filmmaker Vivek Singhania was invited to be one of the esteemed jurors
for the prestigious green section.
