The Importance of Ek Villain 2

By: Amit KumaR Agarwal

Ek Villain 2 releases tomorrow and the Hindi Film Industry is following the film with rapt attention. The interesting fact is, those unrelated with the film are monitoring the film more closely!

The reason for this is ever since Cinema-Halls opened, except for Akshay Kumar films, no new films made a mark at the Hindi BO, with the exception of Pushpa and The Kashmir Files. Even the ones that starred Akshay did almost 40% to 50% of the business, what they would have done pre-pandemic. The films that really worked were either sequels or followed a historic-film by the director (RRR followed Baahubali). So it is indeed very interesting to see, what appens to Ek Villain 2.

Just to brush up the memory, Ek Villain was a superhit and gave the much needed stability to Siddharth Malhotra's then flailing career. Very recently, we had a superhit in Bhool Bhulaiya 2, which irrespective of the hero (here, Kartik Aryan) would've been a hit. So will Ek Villain 2 live up to the hype and give John Abraham the much needed hit. That the film works is also very important for Arjun Kapoor, because he is the latest 'jinxed' actor @ box-office now.

Ek Villain 2's business irrespective or it being a hit or a flop will also give the exact trending and the analysis for future box-office predictions.

Here's hoping the best for the film.
