Mental-health is going to be the biggest pandemic by 2030; studies have already revealed that almost 50% of the world-population is suffering from depression.
Is India geared up to offset the issues related to mental-health?
With a view to tackle this growing pandemic, the Indian-Government, recently launched, "National Task Force on Mental Health". Very recently, at the launch of the website in New Delhi for the National Task Force on Mental Health, a press-meet was organized.
Constituted under the Chairmanship of Former Justice Shri Ravindra Bhat, the Task Force aims to develop comprehensive, recommendations to improve student wellbeing and prevent suicides in HEIs.
The newly launched website serves as a central platform to gather diverse perspectives from key stakeholders including:
- Students of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)
- Parents of such students
- Faculty Members
- Mental Health Service Providers
- Heads of Institutions
- General Public, including friends or family members of students affected by suicide, alumni, NGOs, media professionals, and other concerned citizens
