Not Just A Review l Tu Meri Mein Tera Mein Tera Tu Meri

Making a film is the toughest job in the world - well not quite, since digital has made everyone a film-maker; but telling the story in a seamless narrative is a big-big challenge. The latest release headlined by Kartik Aryan and Ananya Panday falls victim to a patchy-narrative that is good for about 30 minutes, but rest of the film is a loo-ng boring stuff!

This love story opens with Ray (Kartik Aaryan) and Rumi (Ananya Panday) meeting on a flight to Croatia; the chain-reaction starts - bit of nok-jhonk, bit of friendship and lots of love - but hang on there has to be a conflict like all love stories. So we have a twist, that unfortunately isn't convincingly delved into and that is the biggest undoing of the film.

Kartik Aryan is unfortunately getting typecast, and here his timing in emotional scenes is totally up for a toss, even some of his comic act falls flat!

It is Ananya Panday then, that lifts the film with her spritely performance. After Kesari Chapter 2 (again a Karan Johar production) this is another solid performance of hers, within a year. Reminds the writer of SOTY 2, Ananya's debut; where the praise for Ananya's act was questioned by fellow film-critics and today the same critics are singing praises of Ananya's act.

Neena Gupta as Ray's mother and Jackie Shroff as Rumi's father lend fair support; while rest of the cast is routine.

While the first half is repetitive and hence boring at many points, the second half is better. Sameer Vidwans, as director, was much better in his previous film, SatyaPrem Ki Katha.

The real hero of the film is the locations and very rich production-design. At the box-office, Tu Meri Mein Tera Mein Tera Tu Meri will find it tough to make a mark in spite of two huge open weeks ahead!
