- Stay till all the credit titles roll and the music ends, Aditya Dhar still has arsenal left, to beautifully complete the circle of the film
- It is very, very, very tough to make a sequel that shines or even matches up to the original. Even SS Rajamouli failed to do that with Bahubali. Did Aditya Dhar succeed with Dhurandhar 2, read on
If a movie keeps you engrossed for 3hr 49minutes of its running time, you know the director has got the film, bang on, right!
The basic plot of Dhurandhar 2 is - after the death of Rahman Dacait (Akshaye Khanna) how Jaskirat alias Hamza (Ranveer Singh) takes control of the Lyari gang and finishes off the terrorists sitting in pakistan and their sympathizers in India.
This simple premise is woven very deftly into a very intricate screenplay and put on the screen with equal precision; using various cinematic aesthetics and elements to the hilt.
Aditya Dhar had enough meat for the second part:
- Who is Bade Saab?
- Will Hamza's identity be revealed?
- What happens to Aalam Soda?
- Hamza and Yaleena's love story?
- But most importantly how will Hamza kill Major Iqbal?
The best part is Aditya keeps the loudest cheers and claps for the last two chapters, killing of major Iqbal and the way the identity of coordinator (Indian asset) is revealed to the audiences.
Aditya Dhar and the BG man Shashwat Sachdev are 70's, 80's, 90's swingers, can be gauged from the fact by the choice of tracks - Oye Oye, Tamma Tamma Loge (ironically in Sanjay Dutt's assassination scene) and the Boney M. mega-hit, Rasputin, to the full hilt.
At the BO the film has already shattered records and wait for many more to crumble in the coming days!
