If the audiences feel that Raj Singh Chaudhary fits the role of the abducted groom Antardwand, the credit must go to director Imtiaz Ali. That's because the director took the onus of casting for the film.
Imtiaz knew the director, Sushil, for long and it was because of this familiarity that Sushil wanted Imtiaz to act in the film but since Imtiaz was busy he promised Sushil that he'd get a better guy for the role.
