If reports are to be believed and if everything goes fine, the Supreme Court will go paperless very soon.
Yes, it is indeed very difficult for the public to imagine cases without invoking printed pages, but CJI J S Khehar on Wednesday declared that in six to seven months there would be no need to file bulky paper-books as petitions and accompanying documents.
He told lawyers in court room no.1 that the Supreme Court will pick case records from trial court and high court electronically and hence there will be no need to replicate it on paper.
He said the lawyers have to file only the ground on which they are challenging the lower court order. This will be a huge relief for the public, once it comes into effect.
