Paris St Germain advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2024–25 UEFA Champions League after beating, six-times European champions Liverpool, 4-1 in a penalty shootout.
After the 1-1 tie had finished, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma saved spot kicks from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones, while the winners (PSG), who have never won the Champions League, converted all of their efforts.
Many analysts went on record to put this game, as one of the major upsets in the history of Champions League. While many argued they saw the win coming for PSG.
PSG will meet either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the quarters, with Villa taking a 3-1 lead into Wednesday’s second leg.
UEFA Champions League, one of the biggest sporting events worldwide has legions of fans; the 2024-2025 season will culminate with the final, to be played on 31 May 2025 at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
