Fake Influencers

Ever visited an Instagram profile with 100,000+ followers, but views on reels clocking at 12,000 or 15,000 per reel or even less!

Did you wonder, with so many followers why only 10% views and even fewer likes?

The answer is these are 'fake influencers' propped by marketing-agencies; marketed as influencers, by the time a product or a brand realizes that is not the way to go, these agencies move to another brand.

The trend is not only in India, but across the world.

China, is probably the first country to bring in some regulation on the 'thriving' influencer-business.

Now only those, with a professional body of work or educational qualifications will be allowed to speak on the specific subject matter.

India might follow it soon; but with internet an open ground, can such regulations really be effective?
