Amit R Agrwal, cult film-maker from India, walked his 50th Red Carpet at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in 2025. His iconic appearance was covered by more 200-media outlets in India.

Now, the videos of the walk, have got a whopping one-million views across social media and news-portals. On one of the social-media alone, one of the reels has got a whopping 50,000+ views
Agrwal said that walking the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival is no big deal, "anyone with a ticket to Grand Lumiere and a valid accreditation can walk the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival; again at the 12-day festival if you get hold of 10-tickets, you can walk the Cannes Red Carpet 10-times in one edition itself!"
So what is the big hullabaloo about the red carpet. Vivek Singhania producer of films like Himesh Reshammiya's debut film Aap Ka Suroor said, "it is a media-made bubble in India, anyone that knows Cannes Film Festival, laughs at Indians for all the craze they have for the red carpet at Cannes".
Another regular, Rakesh Jain, film-distributor and buyer said, "I have myself walked red carpet 20 times, but here in New Delhi, I have met influencers that flaunt their 4th or 5th walk at the Cannes Red Carpet, need I say more", Jain flashes his smile as he signs-off.
