Sultry Bipasha Basu’s 9 avatar in PANKH
In Sanjay Gupta’s forthcoming release PANKH, Bipasha has donned 9 different looks, which is sure to redefine the 'actor look’ as perceived in Indian cinema (other than the quintessential song and dance makeover). Each look designed for Bipasha reflects the mood of the character of Maradona. She is Maradona's imagination, his alter ego.
According to Bipasha whenever Maradona feels vulnerable, she has been given a soft look and whenever he is agitated or in self doubt, her look is made to look harsh. It was a complete teamwork - designer Rocky S, director Sudipto Chattopadhyaya and new age producer Sanjay Gupta - were instrumental and involved in designing the right look to match the attitude of the character. Says Sanjay Gupta "Pankh is a wild ride through the underbelly of the film industry. Bipasha plays an alter ego, a fantasy & we wanted her to look like the two divas – Sophia Loren & Liza Minelli from‘Cabaret’. The conception & execution of the looks were acollaborative effort between the Sudipto, the director & designers Rocky S and Gavin Miguel."
PANKH produced by White Feather Arthouse Films and NEX GEN films, will release on April 2, 2010.
