Tabu stands tall l Bhool Bhulaiya 2 l Mini Review

The correct mix of horror with comedy has always worked at the Indian box-office and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 utilizes this to the hilt.

The film tells the story of a girl, Reet (Kiara Advani) to break her impending marriage since she gets to know that her cousin loves the boy with whom her marriage has been finalised. She fakes herself to be dead with the help of a stranger, Ruhaan (Kartik Aryan). Ruhaan helps Reet in her mission as he has fallen in love with her. In fulfilling Reet’s mission, the family is forced to live in the abandoned mansion in which Reet had spent her childhood. The mansion is abandoned because one of the rooms holds the spirit of Manjulika (Tabu), the evil twin-sister of Anjulika. What happens next forms the story.

The first Bhool Bhulaiya was a roaring hit and this one will be a hit as well. Kartik Aryan is fine, but one misses Akshay Kumar a lot, and a reason for it is Kartik apes Akshay in many scenes. Kiara Advani is good and her dance as Manjulika needs special mention. It is Tabu, however, who steals the show. The entire climax is centered around her and she has carried it off with elan. The way she is selecting her roles is really laudable. Rest of the cast is perfect as well.

Though, logically, the screenplay has glaring holes in it, the crisp dialogues and the humor makes viewers overlook them. A winner all the way.
