Khushi Kapoor who suddenly became the 'Gen Z B.yond' icon when she emphatically made the case for the mismatched bikini - with many Indian girls taking to sporting mismatched bikinis in their vacay and influencer pics - is finding her bollywood going - sort of tough - post Loveyapa and now, Nadaaniyan.
While she made a very confident debut in Archies; post debut, unlike her older sibling Janhavi - she found the going really tough.
Box-Office, where fortunes change every Friday, hasn't been kind to her - with Loveyapa - released exactly the month before Nadaaniyan became such a cropper that on a reported budget of 50crores including P&A - it couldn't even recover 10crores. Nadaaniyan is an OTT film, but reviews have been far from flattering.
Interestingly n both the films her male lead are the star-progenies. Loveyapa had Junaid Khan and Nadaaniyan has Ibrahim Ali Khan making his debut.
A section of critics, though augur, that it is the genre of films that she is doing is her undoing. "Right now, well made, larger-than-life action genre is he mantra at the BO - who wants to shell out 1000 odd bucks on a done-to-death romance genre, without any hit music," says a Delhi-UP exhibitor, Sangram.
An aspiring film-critic and a fresh graduate of mass-com, Shivani says - Khiushi is just three films old, give her time.
One of the rare actresses to be very vocal about undergoing cosmetic surgeries - including a nose job and eyebrow nanoblading - Khushi is taking it light. She knows she has enough years ahead to make a confident mark!
