By - Monu Kumar

There are very few police officers across the world that leave an indelible impression for the future officers to emulate - former Inspector General (IG) of the Uttar Pradesh Police, Vijay Bhushan, is one such personality.

On the first meeting, his very soft and silent persona, is quite a paradox for his much feared name across the criminal gangs.

Known as the encounter specialist in Uttar Pradesh and beyond - he is the first police officer to be decorated with the prestigious President's Police Medal seven times for his distinguished service.

Adding another award to his illustrious list of awards, he was honored with the "Honour of Ashoka Award," making him only the second IPS officer to receive this distinction.
