The auspicious festival of Dhanteras is being celebrated by Indians across the world.
About The Dhanteras Festival
Elders say that Dhanteras festival is celebrated as the first day of the five-day-long Deepavali festivities. The name comes from Dhan, meaning "wealth," and teras, referring to the "thirteenth day" of the lunar fortnight in the Hindu calendar month of Kartik.
It is considered a highly auspicious day for new purchases, especially gold, silver, and other household items, to attract good luck and prosperity. Other than God Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi, God Dhanvantari, God of Ayurveda and health, is specially worshipped this day to balance the body, mind and soul with health, wealth and spiritual connect.
