Paws and Peace

  • Pets are often known to bring calm to lives, if and only if trained well.

Let's jump onto a simple question: does keeping a pet really bring happiness?

The answer as I said is yes; if and only if trained well.

In this fast-paced world, these little bundles of joy remind us to slow down and cherish and appreciate the precious moments we have rather than just worrying and trying to fit in this new era where people are more likely to choose technologies for sparing their time instead of enjoying their own living beings.

Although having a pet is a wild ride, it can be fun too.

The unconditional love of a pet we get is priceless, and there's a saying that taking the current scenario, a pet may outshine humans in certain respects. Unlike many relations or companions we bump into in our lives, a pet love is something different and non-judgmental. They greet us whenever we come home. They offer comfort and companionship without anticipating anything back; there is a pure genuine love for us they carry in their hearts, which lifts our spirit and gives peace during the challenging and stressful times we go through. A pet can strengthen mental health and give a sense of purpose.

Relationships with humans sometimes can be complex and full of misunderstandings, which create chaos in our peaceful life itself.

People of all ages enjoy their companionship, and owning a pet is a rewarding experience, though you have to take care of them just as your own child since it comes with lots of responsibilities.

Commitment, care, love, and ensuring a safe environment are also necessary because pets depend on their owners for their well-being

In some cases, I have seen that people own a pet just to show off, or you can also say that they just want to appear trendy and socially accepted; however, they do not take their pets as seriously as they should, and these pets are far more than just status symbols.

They become part of our life and family, so they equally deserve all the love, care, and respect we can give.

Overall, owing a pet is a long-term commitment, and as a pet parent, you have to be responsible enough because you are their lifeline.

Do Patti reminds viewers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video

By: Amit kumaR Agarwal

On 12th September, 2024 trailer of Vicky Vidya.. released and box-office pundits predicted superhit, it was another story though that the film was nowhere near its trailer. Do Patti is in a similar space, the trailer promised a thriller, but all you get is a very lame plot with a screenplay that instead of moving on plausible lines, relies heavily on writers' convenience.

Why?
The acrimony between the siblings goes up in a swish, rendering the whole build-up to it a waste. There are many such instances in the screenplay that makes you wonder, why was this lame film commissioned by Netflix in the first place.

Two actors that seem to be totally wondering the same are Kajol and Tanvi Azmi. Kajol is totally wasted and it shows in her performance that she bravely tries to give shades to, with her act.

The plot of Do Patti or rather the lack of plot is, Kriti Sanon plays dual role of Shailee and Saumya - growing up after a troubled childhood. Shailee is the strong and crafty one, Saumya the weak and simpler one. Sibling rivalry reach a crescendo when Shailee steals the boyfriend, Dhruv, of her sister, Saumya. Who sleeps with the crafty one but marries the simpler one. Hackneyed!

It comes as no surprise as screenwriter, Kanika Dhillon, has more 'misses' that 'hits'.
Sibling rivalry between women have worked well in Indian cinema, last being Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 where Tabu perfected the act, but Kriti Sanon is no match, thanks to a very weak script.

Frankly, there was so much that could have been done with the plot, but for screenplay that meanders and tries to do justice to the star images of Kajol and Kriti Sanon.

Casting in another problem, you need bigger actors to play Dhruv and his father for audiences to invest in the film.

The content at Netflix India unfortunately is very sub-standard and they ought to spruce up their act, if they want to be relevant in the game.

India's Work-Life Balance

Contributed By: Anshika Pandey (Student Mass Comm Contributor)
  • Balancing professional and personal life without sacrificing your well-being

‘Work-life balance’ is the latest health-mantra.

First and foremost, what are you referring to when you use this term?

It basically means, managing both work or profession and personal life hand in hand without being imbalanced and disappointing any of them.

And simultaneously, commitments are the most crucial or significant in both areas, which comes with a lot of pressure and responsibility to deliver consistency. A good balance allows individuals to meet their career ambitions while balancing personal pursuits. Sometimes it becomes difficult to achieve both things at the same point.

However, if we talk about our country, India, the way economies are growing, the competition around work load, long working hours in areas like IT, finance, and consultancies, and adaptation according to the Modern Era, achieving work-life balance can become challenging.

So there is a recent case where a man quits his job on the very first day after his manager dismissed the concept of 'work-life’ balance, as the manager clearly stated that the work-life balance is a western concept.

And there's another case where the girl named Anna Sebastian died from work-related stress, and her family claims that Anna was overwhelmed by the work load and long hours. There are many cases like this in India, which are very disheartening.

So we can conclude that not only the employee but the manager or boss should understand and value the term work-life balance.
