Pavan's next role will see him play a very controversial character in THE BASTARD CHILD. He plays as the ‘Butcher of Bengal’ responsible for the pogrom. The BASTARD CHILD - is a film based on the rape of 2,00,000 Bangladeshi Bengali women by
Pakistani Army – during Bangladesh ‘Liberation’ where rape was used as a
weapon of War; reportedly 30,000 War babies born in Bangladesh.
When
asked about the huge critical and box office success of BMB, Pavan
said “I am very pleased that BHAAG MILKA BHAAG has received such
a stupendous success both with the critics and masses alike. It will
go down in history as one of the biggest biopic. Truly it has inspired the masses. Farhan Akhthar's performance was pitch perfect and he reallyworked hard to get his athletic physique and body language right. Andwhat do I say of Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, It was pleasure working with him in Delhi 6 and now BMB. He will be remembered as an iconic filmmaker!”
He adds about his forthcoming film "My character in The Bastard Child is responsible for the atrocities in Bangladesh, where rape is used as a weapon of war to terrorize the people. My character is menacing. Though the title is a working title, it may change, considering the controversial nature of the subject.”
Pavan is very judicious on the roles he play and considers that every time he takes up a role, he is accepting a new challenge, and his thinking process begins on how to sketch out a character and the personality in the script, and he believes, it is that what acting involves.
Pawan Malhotra body of work truly speaks for itself, be it Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, Black Friday, Bagh Bahadur, Delhi 6, Don, EARTH, FAKIR, Jab We Met, Kamosh, Road to Sangam, Brother in Trouble, Aithe (Telugu Blockbuster) etc.
Pavan Malhotra is amongst the select few, who has won 2 National Awards besides a host of other Awards.
