After a solid show of Bhool Bhulaiya 2, what are the box-office expectations from Anek. The trailer has been liked, but will Anubhav Sinha make a money-spinner.
Let's analyze
Ayushmaan Khurana has had solid hits in the past, but his last releases Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui didn't set the cash-registers jingling.
Anubhav Sinha hasn't had a great show with his directorial ventures. Though, his films like Mulk was critically lauded and Thappad too drew favorable reviews; with a section of media celebrating their success too, the ground reality was absolutely different.
The duos last film together, "Article 15", was critically lauded, but the business again was nothing compared to Ayushmann's other releases the same year, Dream Girl and Bala.
Coming to Anek, though the trailer has been liked, the film has a heavy feel of Mulk or Article 15 for the audiences at large, as such the business of the film seems to be in the same range of Anubhav's earlier films, which is no growth as post-pandemic, many properties have hiked up the ticket-rates.
