Finally the verdict is out from the insiders who have seen both SOS & JTHJ. While initially, JTHJ will get benefit of more screens, more than double that of SOS and the emotional quotient created by Yash Chopra's untimely demise; it seems SOS is a more enjoyable wholesome entertainer.
The strong points of JTHJ are the
banner, the director, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, music. On the flip
side is it's length (almost 3 hours), sags in the middle, predictable
climax and the fact that Shahrukh looks tad too old for the part.
The strong points of SOS are, it's a
complete entertainer, kids are already loving the 'pon, pon' number.
Ajay Devgnn is in top form. The screenplay unfolds at a very fast pace.
On the flip side is the fact that it is a masala film with very less
meat for the 'critics' or audiences who prefer sensible cinema.
When asked, is Jab Tak Hai Jaan Yash Chopra's best directorial outing?
The people on condition of anonymity, answered diplomatically, "he has made some really very interesting and outstanding films in the past."
