Legendary actress, Demi Moore, is no exception as her fans pointed out at the Oscars 2025.
Oscars, living up to it's past reputation, didn't disappoint; as the show had all the excitement and unpredictability one could expect from Hollywood’s biggest night, but there was one moment that left many in the audience, and even more at home, scratching their heads in disbelief.

For the context, Demi Moore’s performance in The Substance was one of the most lauded of the year and as she lost Best Actress at the 2025 Oscars, fans didn't take it too kindly - they took to social media to vent out their pent up emotions.
It may be noted that the 62-year-old actor, was considered by many to be all, but the winner, for Best Actress, a category that had the audience on the edge of their seats all night. The reason for such high hopes - her performance in the horror cult, The Substance (2024) - that left an indelible impression on the audiences worldwide.
In The Substance, Moore portrayed a woman grappling with terrifying transformations, both physical and emotional, that left viewers captivated and haunted long after the credits rolled.
Critics worldwide argued that this film is Demi Moore's career-best performance; as it carved out an entirely new chapter in her long career. But despite all the praise, the Oscar for Best Actress went to Mikey Madison for her role in Anora (2024), a win that stunned the internet and sent waves of disappointment through social media.
