The official selection at the Festival de Cannes is waited for in anticipation not only be film-makers but the global film-industry, because it defines the production-slate of both indie-filmmakers as well as the studios. The official selection of the 78th Cannes Film Festival is out now and has sent cineastes worldwide waiting in anticipation for the festival to kick-start
This year Festival de Cannes, kicks off with the highly anticipated Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning sequel with Tom Cruise returning after his much lauded appearance in the 2022 edition for Top Gun: Maverick.
It is interesting to note that the selection last year included many exceptional films that went on to dominate the Academy Awards - including Anora, Flow, and Emilia Perez. Will this year follow suit; check the list of the Cannes-cut 2025.
