Dry spell continues at the Indian box-office

After the last big hit, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, for the third week in a row the flops continued raining at the Indian box-office.

A total of 16 Hindi films released on July 19th, 26th and August 2 and none of these can be classified a hit. Ramaiyya Vastavaiya did an average business, rest all are duds entailing losses.

All industry hopes are now on Chennai Express and Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobara.

Chennai Express is already expected to take a flying start because it comes on Eid and after Ramzaan, footfalls for the immediate release automatically increase by atleast 30%. The question is not whether CE will do a business of 100 crore, but whether it will reach 200 crore. A figure almost touched by the latest superstar, Ranbir Kapoor's, Ye Jawaani Hai Diwaani!
